"St John’s embraces traditional values in a stimulating
and creative learning environment..."

St John’s is a small First School in the peaceful, rural village of Bishops
Wood. The school is situated at the heart of the village and has strong links
with the Church of St John the Evangelist.
Our children come from surrounding villages as well as outside the catchment
area. Children start school from as early as four years of age and leave at
nine. We provide flexible pre-school induction sessions to meet the individual
needs of children and parents. Small classes mean that all children are valued
and are able to develop to a high academic standard. We strongly believe in
setting firm foundations for a child’s education and we limit the number of
children in the Reception Class to a maximum of fifteen.
Our Mission Statement
We seek within a Christian environment to provide a happy,
caring, family-centred village school.
We ensure that our pupils are well equipped to maintain high standards of achievement
as they progress in their education.
Learning together, we will be learning for life!
If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact the headteacher or any of the governors/staff. Please also feel free to come and see us, either formally or at one of our special events. We would be delighted to see you.
